Our unique sheepskins are tanned by us, right here on the farm, entirely by hand and with natural products.
 

 
 "Killarney" is a medium-sized hide. Dark brown in color with blonde highlights, this hide is more rustic, retaining its natural texture and tight curls, but also containing some hay residue.
 

 
Tanning our animals' hides requires a lot of work (10 to 20 hours of manual labor per hide), but we feel it is simply out of the question to let such a beautiful part of our animals be wasted.
 

 
Sheepskins have been used all over the world for centuries as a sustainable and useful home textile. They can be used as rugs, decorations, baby legacy gifts (to be used as playmats or under blankets in a crib), they are great at the ice rink to stay warm in the stands, and so much more!
 

 
Our sheepskins are tanned using alum powder (you might know this mineral added to pickles to keep them crisp) and salt. Because they are alum-tanned, it's best to avoid getting them wet. Upon purchase, you will receive a document describing the care and maintenance of your new sheepskin.
